We are a parental cooperative which means that we as members of the association are the employer for all employees at the preschool. The board members is replaced after two years minimum and has the ultimate responsibility for the preschool together with our principal. The president is in charge of leading the boards work, the financial officer is in charge of the associations finances, the wage admin is in charge for wages and contracts and the administrative director is the link between the employees and the board.
We also have two positions as “Husgås” (house goose) and “Hemgås” (house goose), they are responsible for our cleaning schedule, garden days, our call schedule and for planning any renovations.
All members of the association are expected to participate in meetings (one from each family). In one year we have approximately four meetings with the association and additionally three meetings where the employees is present. The board has additional meetings aside.
Twice a year we have garden days when all families get together to do some garden work and other improvements on the physical appearance of the preschool. It is usually a nice day together were we get to know each other better.
We have a cleaning schedule. The weekend when it is your family’s turn you are supposed to take care of the recycling and if the cook/cleaner is sick you may also have to clean during your week. At the moment we have a cleaning company on the weekends but this decision can be revoked depending on that times economic conditions. That means that additional to the responsibility for recycling you may also have to clean the preschool approximately three-four times a year. We also have a few commitments during winter between Christmas and New year as well as during our summer break in July (when the preschool is closed), it can be chores such as washing textiles or cleaning toys (these are distributed between all families).
The work we as parents do at the preschool enables us to have a small child group and our own cook which benefits the children’s well-being.
Vi har upp till 18 barn på förskolan i åldrarna 1-5 år. Åldersintegreringen innebär att de yngre barnen lär av de äldre, vilket är berikande och utvecklande både för de små och för de stora barnen.
The preschool is closed 4 weeks during the summer (July), between Christmas and new year and during four planning days each year, usually in August, Januari and June.
